Royal Challengers Bangalore was struggling after three consecutive defeats and their campaign threatened to detract but with having players of caliber Murali, Gayle and de Villiers, it would have been foolish write them off as proved today against Pune Warriors. 39 overs RCB chased the game but in last over due to class and talent of de Villiers they scamper home with a win. It was really Gayle who set up the show once again, in last 12 months he has been knocking hundreds all over the world in different T20 leagues as if it is child feat in the meantime idiotic West Indies cricket board kept him depriving from the international game. Hardly anyone will see more foolish cricket crash of personalities than this one, he has been in form of the life but he has not played a single international game while the team has been thrashed around in every corner they played in. But anyhow back to IPL, Gayle this season had already made his impact with punishing 68 against CSK but it proved to in losing cause after huge Kohli penultimate over. Gayle set about the business in his merry way today, taking his time get in and getting used to pace of pitch. Once he was in, Nehra was marked as the target to go after and did not he go after him big time. He cut loose with two massive sixes following lofted cut short for a four. After this impetus, Gayle unlike most of the batsmen drops down the anchor and lengthens up his stay in the middle by milking the bowling. After this easy passage Gayle sets about for massive last round which proved to be off against Sharma. No one has any question his power but his ability to pace the innings takes him head shoulders above the other power hitters. No one is as dangerous as Gayle is in T20 cricket right now, because he tries to bat the whole 20 overs without throwing his wicket away but unfortunately today the entertainment cut short because of perfect Nehra yorker. Gayle’s red hot form is the reason why people are considering RCB favorites for the season.
