What a great way for Ex Captain of Indian Cricket Team 'Saurav Ganguly' to remind his critics of his talent. The visitors, Pune Warriors, Captain Ganguly not only successfully led the team but also contributed with the bat and then took 2 important Wickets. Reminiscence of his old day and another reason for kolkata fans to support Pune Warriors rather than Kolkata Night Riders.

Coming into Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi, after two successive defeats Ganguly Mens had lost their last two matches. Today’s win was the much needed booster for them to come back to their winning streak. The Pune Warriors performance this season has improved a lot under the new leadership. In Last season the team was at the bottom but after today’s match the Pune Warriors are at the third place.

The main difference for Pune Warriors this season and last season is the captain ‘Ganguly’. No doubt Ganguly has been the undisputed leader who led india team to so many wins. Today it was visible in the match against Delhi. Ganguly came into bat when they were down by one wicket with not much run on the scoreboard.

On the pitch which looked liked good batting pitch, Ryder and Ganguly set up a 93-run stand. Later during the bowling attack, Delhi Pietersen looked as if he would take away the game from Pune as he did in last match. So when Ganguly decided to ball, he kept it low and the batsmen missed it completely. The delighted ganguly completely bowled out Pietersen. This was an important wicket for Pune.

In Ganguly next over, Irfan Pathan struck over midwicket for six. In another similar attempt Pathan was caught in the deep of Ganguly ball. Good placement by the captain and some smart thinking. Apart from 2 wickets, the bowling changes introduced by the captain proved very useful for setting up a win for Dada’s men. On a flat wicket, the captain marched his men well. Sahara must be proud to have Ganguly and with the current form, the Pune team seems to be almost sure of making into the top four.
