Another exciting match and Chennai manage to stay afloat in the rain affected match in IPL 2012. Things looked to be in Rajasthan hands till Morkel and Anirudha hammered the home team bowlers to win the match in a fashion. Though this win might have surprised many, Captain Cool would have been relaxed since Chennai are in top four. With this win, Chennai still remain in contention for the top four and Dravid boys will have to fight out to win their remaining matches.

It was worth the money and time despite frustration due to rain and sacrifices of late night sleep. Batting first, Rajasthan batsmen struggled to open against the Chennai seamers. Whenever they tried to hit, they lost the wicket. Sensing they impact due to rain, Dhoni opted to field after winning the toss. Star batsmen of Royals departed one by one without adding much to the overall score.

The lowest target set by Royal’s was never going to be easy to defend. Stuart Binny hit in one over but departed soon. Then when Dhoni introduced spinners to the attack, Royals could not take the charge. Brad Hodge playing today hit the spinners for couple of boundaries and another costly over by Bravo propelled Royals score past 120 runs. On a slow track, Chennai bowlers except bravo had a good laugh.

Needing an easy target, Chennai boys would have hoped for a smooth ride. But home team attacked well and put the pressure on the visitors. The top six could not perform. After the dhoni was out, chennai still needed 47 of 24 balls. With the wicket supporting the bowlers, Dravid would have thought that the match was in their hand.

Morkel and Srikkanth focused on their target. Each of them hit a four, 2 sixes gathering 18 runs each to win the match with 10 balls to spare.  Dravid introduction of Pankaj singh turned costly. He gave away 17 runs.  Experienced Watson and Tait could not handle the Chennai duo and Chennai Kings Won comfortably.
