No one from Pakistan in IPL........Whats the take???

Last night there was a lot of debate on a BBC forum about this very topic; whether Dravid should be recalled to no. 3 slot. I too participated. The owner of the thread was dead against Dravid's inclusion. His argument was that it was a backward step and would hinder the development and inclusion of new young talent available to India, like Rahane, Rohit, Raina, Pujara and some others. He argued that return of Sehwag will free up Gambhir at 3.

My main contention was that 3 spot is a very specialized job and the slot has been lying unoccupied for some time now. No youngster has grabbed the opportunity to fill it. Dravid does have some cricket left in him. Why not use him for the time being and Manish Pandey be groomed to fill the slot.

If Dravid is in the 30 probables he is most likely to be included. I have lots and lots of respect for his and Kumble's services to Indian cricket. Dravid specifically has made the highest sacrifices to further the cause of Indian success in ODIs. I am sure he has the tools and the motivation to succeed. Youngsters will take some time. We should not throw away our best talent in a hurry, thinking we have more than enough.

all of you must have realised the importance of No.3 spot. If this goes it becomes a procession to the pavilion.

i shall be very happy if Dravid comes in. At the same time I would like to share thoughts and ideas in this forum even if these run counter to my perception.

Without Pakistan IPL Cannot Success and its taste like dull . So i think IPL should include Pakistani Batsman in IPL for the Crunch Matches . and i hope in future IPL will invite Pakistani Players. Make Money

Its a fabulous move, if they have any doubt about not figuring in final list, they would not have added into the probables list only. He is consistent at his batting and ODIs are looking suddenly a longer version, u require some one who can put some solid base for the batting.

Things have run out as expected. Rahul Dravid is in the squad for the triseries and the CT. Hopefully R Dravid justifies the faith the selectors have placed in him.
