Deccan Chargers Script a Dream End to IPL 2

Deccan Chargers had the last laugh and they put smiles on the faces of thousands of their fans around the world. I am sure the city of Hyderabad would have erupted into celebrations that would have continued into the wee hours. A true champion team with the metal would only have clinched the game in the conditions that had a bit of everything for the bowlers and the batsmen. Having said that the fortunes swung from one team to the other with every dot ball . Last evening at the Bull Ring,… Continue

Chargers One Step Away from Glory

The first thing I decided to do after watching the first Semi Finals was to read my earlier blogs. The first blog i wrote on this website as a Deccan supporter was titled "Deccan's Charging Ahead to Glory". That was in the early part of the tournament after which Deccan's slipped with their performance and made things difficult for them. It feels great to watch a team from Zero to get close to become a Hero in the second season of IPL. Today, they are one step away from being the champion team… Continue

Deccan Chargers' 14th Game: Will be about Skills and Application of Mind

Bangalore Royal Challengers are no more in the league of the Kolkata Knight Riders. This is the first and foremost thinking that must get into the Deccan Chargers' (DC) dressing room. Deccan Chargers are fortunate that they would play the last league game thus have a clear picture of what they must do. With crucial games coming up for other teams (RR and KXI Punjab) who with the Chargers are vying for the remaining two semi final spots, DC would have already started to feel the heat. The fact… Continue

Deccan Chargers Threatening Themselves

The supporters of Deccan Chargers hope that they have seen the worst of the defeats for their team in the tournament and further hope that the Chargers could still play and make it to the Semis. That's all Hope. A quote by Rick Page states that "Hope is not a Strategy". Personally, I do not see Chargers going beyond Semi Finals with this Yo-Yo performance after registering four dominating and consecutive victories. When they beat Rajasthan Royals by a huge margin on a slow wicket, it gave the… Continue

Legal Notice to ICC by Pakistan Cricket Board

While it is natural to sympathise with the continued disappointment expressed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), it is time in my opinion for PCB to introspect and self apprise the implication of its legal action against the ICC. I am not writing this blog as an Indian but as someone like many others who share the passion and concern for the game and the stakeholders involved.

Ever since the decision to take away the Co-Host status of Pakistan for the premiere event of 2011 was… Continue

Deccan Chargers Losing the Plot?

A dream start to the season by the chargers now seem to be fading away and this is causing heartbreaks for the fans that see their team lose out due to poor cricketing strategy. I would request Gilly and the Team Management to get back to the drawing board and have a collective team strategy in place. For any loss from here will only ruin the chances of making it to the Top 4. The match last evening was crucial for both the Kings and Chargers. The approach to the game defending a decent total… Continue

Deccan Chargers Still Needs To Re-Group

The moment Herche was caught by Sachin at the slip a close follower of the game and a friend of mine from South Africa sent me a text message "Someone should clip Herchelle Gibbs one upside the back of the head.." Well Well, I was disappointed and only hoped that Gilly would change his game strategy and stay on the wicket a bit longer and allow the Chargers to reach a defendable total against the Mumbai Indians. Remember Mumbai had to win the game at any cost.

The problem with early… Continue

Chennai's Clinical Performance Made The Difference

It was saddening to see your favorite team lose yet again last evening at East London. Well, what won in the end was Cricket. Everyone expected CSK to get back among the top four since they are too good to not to make the cut. Now they suddenly find themselves on the top the league and in my opinion deserve to be there. This will make a huge difference to the confidence and moral of the team. The chances are that they would remain there and end up among the top 2.

The Chargers had a… Continue

Deccan Chargers: Beware of Complacency

A low scoring game last evening was overcome by the quick wickets which made RR look like a team one could walk over. I guess it was the same feeling on field and most members from Team Deccan Chargers (DC) were already painting a picture of Victory. In cricket, the game is not decided until the last ball is bowled. That has been the tradition of the game and will continue to be, whatever the format. Gilly was apt to have blamed the poor fielding and how true that was when you had top 3 batsmen… Continue

I read your blog and you said well...I'm a DD fan & a Sehwag fan.
It was dissapointing to see him getting out in such fashion.
But Hats off to Gilly(that is an innings of a lifetime indeed).

But interestingly you mentioned 2003 world cup final & who's who not performing...If i remember it correctly Sehwag played an scorcher of an innings of 82 but no-one supported him...So Sehwag is a great player, he can deliver when needed.

Hope to see a good final of IPL2...Looking forward to T20 World cup.
