iPL 2010 - All cricket lovers looking forward.

It is again IPL Time. Most the cricket lovers should be looking foward to it.This is a format of the game, anybody can win. Difficult to choose the favourite. Yes there are some teams which have endge over others. But those advantages may not be the determining factors. The batting is probably the most important thing in T20 format.See More

Indians - most unpredictable

I have been watching, following circket, especailly wherever India is involved for more than 40 years now. Indians are in my opinion (which could be subject to lot of criticism) are most unpredictable. Indians cannot maintain thier performance for long and in any case beyong a year or so is just of question. In fact Indians in cricket have not made very much impact as a team. Yes there are some great peformers but most of these are individual peformances. As a Team, India has achived some…See More

I believe that one of the major reasons for India's performance was the pre-tournament schedule. India seem to play more than any other country and leading up to the World Cup, they played an ODI series v Sri Lanka, an ODI and Test series v NZ,…

INDIAN CRICKET - NEED OF THE HOUR IS RETROSPECTION

I was listening to the comments and reaction from Mr. Rajiv Shukla, Chairman, BCCI Media Committee after India’s dismal performance in World T20 2009. In fact, my reaction to his comments is mixed.

Absolutely right, one should not jump to conclusions based on single performance. But losing 3 games in a row is something which should not surely an isolated instance and it needs to be deliberated threadbare and appropriate conclusions arrived at. If we mull over the matter, the… Continue

CRICKET HAS BECOME HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL OVER THE YEARS – INDIANS ARE STILL FAR FROM IT

I am quite sure most of the players and may be some of the officials at the helm of the affairs, who may read this may not agree fully and also not like it. But this truth but nothing but truth.

The way game has progressed over the years and decades, Cricket has become very highly professional. When we say professional, what are we saying and what is expected out of Cricket Professionals. Let us examine some of the issues connected with Professionalism.

To my mind the 1st… Continue

INDIA ON THEIR WAY BACK – VIRU’S EXIT WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING

India did quite well to start with in this game against England. They bowled well and restricted England to 153. Bringing in Jadeja was a good move. We can say so many things about what India could have done or not have done.

In my view, Viru’s exit was only the beginning and others are now following him. Indian top order never played and fired the way you are expected in T20 game. That has been the problem I think. Viru is the kind of opener is required for any team to win T20 game.
