Tainted Rajasthan Royals cricketer Ankeet Chavan tied the nuptial knot with fiancée Neha Sambari in a quiet ceremony.

The 27-year-old left-arm spinner Chavan is accused in the T20 spot-fixing scandal and is currently suspended by the Cricket Board.

He married his IT consultant girlfriend of 8 years after a Delhi court gave him conditional bail till June 6 for his marriage. He was in judicial custody after being arrested on charges of spot-fixing.

The other players along with Chavan are Ajit Chandila and S Sreeshanth who were arrested by the Delhi Police for their suspected association in spot-fixing in IPL matches.

Ankeet Chavan savoured moments of bliss as he married Neha Sambari in Mumbai on 2nd June. Chavan was released on Friday by a Delhi court only on bail for 6 days. He is attending post-wedding functions and will return to custody on June 6, as per court orders.

Sporting a smile and yet a serious look on his face, Chavan was surrounded with relatives and plain-clothed police officials at the wedding venue - Kohinoor Banquet Hall near Shivaji Park. Dressed in a cream-white designer dhoti-kurta and maroon turban; the marriage procession included his family members, friends and neighbours. The bride Neha wore a traditional saree at the wedding.

Marriage nuptials were carried out around 5 pm and the newly-married couple hosted a wedding reception at night at the same venue.

The typical Maharashtrian ceremony served a vegetarian wedding feast for approximately 400 guests.

Chavan was arrested along with his team mates S Sreesanth and Ajit Chandila. The IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals players were taken in custody by the Delhi Police on May 16 on charges of indulging in spot fixing in IPL matches.

Chavan had to agree to the stringent conditions levied by the Delhi court - including furnishing two sureties and a personal bond. He had to surrender his passport and was directed not to make any contact with anybody connected with the IPL scam.
