A low scoring game last evening was overcome by the quick wickets which made RR look like a team one could walk over. I guess it was the same feeling on field and most members from Team Deccan Chargers (DC) were already painting a picture of Victory. In cricket, the game is not decided until the last ball is bowled. That has been the tradition of the game and will continue to be, whatever the format. Gilly was apt to have blamed the poor fielding and how true that was when you had top 3 batsmen sent back with less than 10 on the board. Not many games are lost from that position, but a team with a spirited fightback that RR showcased last evening could play a spoilsport in some of the best executed plans. I again maintain as in my last blog, Warne is one of the best reader of the game today.

DC cannot afford to be Complacent here on. With few games washed out, the points table actually looks pretty open. Two back to back losses has already opened the doors for lower order teams to close in. Yes, team DC may have played fewer games, however, the dominating effect musn't be lost at any point in time. Teams are getting used to the SA conditions and are adapting quickly. CSK looked to have found their touch and these are teams that would take the stride in their favor in no time. The catch taken by Raina last evening to dismiss Gambhir has sent the right message to the opponents that CSK are back and will fire. I think the season 2 is only getting exciting. Except KKR, who seem to be playing the rest of the tournament as a formality, all other teams still have a outside chance to make it to the top four.

Gilly surely must have had a word with his team mates on what went wrong and what should'nt go wrong going forward. He doesnt mince words as we know and must have asked the batters to produce runs on the board to allow his bowlers to have a go at the opposition. The fielding will see a drastic changeover in the next, rest assured. It was the fielding that let DC down.

The message therefore is not to be COMPLACENT- 8 points on the board could remain the same if you lose rest of the games. Thus it is important to keep the focus "game by game" to advance forward. Going by the form and the zeal, I have no doubts that DC will make it to the top four and probably the finals this time....So keep Charging...

This year it's going to be about NRR! Every single run (even a bye to the wicket keeper off the last ball) is going to be crucial. Teams should remember that chasing totals.

Exactly. Complacency is a killer. Last year also it happened with CSK. They won the 1st 4 in a row but lost the next 3. In this years IPL u can't be complacent. The race for the semis is spicing up. Each game is going for last over finish if not last ball. Any team can qualify for semis well except poor soul KKR. So every team needs to be on their toe.
