MS Dhoni has shared in Rhiti Sports Management; the news has spread like wild fire and people are speculating his involvement in attaining personal goals a lot more now. Even the former cricketers are not so pleased with the revelation.
They are not wrong in thinking that Dhoni is undergoing a 'clear case of conflict of interest' and that it indicates issues at large in the highest levels of administrators in cricket. Former India spinner Maninder Singh says it is difficult to locate disintegrated members since the BCCI President has acted against everyone who has taken a stand for the good of the game.
Maninder added that a prominent selector and curator were both removed only because they did not approve of MS Dhoni as the captain. The respected and former player Mohinder Amarnath and the custodian, who has served for 40 years - were disregarded by the BCCI President.
Mohinder Amarnath was removed from the selection committe last year and the mess over the Eden Gardens Pitch witnessed India deficiently lost to England in 2012.
MS Dhoni is being protected by the president as the former is also a vice-president in his company.
Former India Opener and Delhi & District Cricket Association Vice-President Chetan Chauhan said that the BCCI President and other authorities are following erroneous norms. He not only wants to question Dhoni, but also Anil Kumble who also has a firm.
Chetan is requesting the board officials to take some firm decisions on rules involving businesses that the players and officials can own and associate themselves with. Chauhan said it was unfair to treat Amarnath in such a manner.
Another former India player, Madan Lal believes that BCCI members and captains enjoy great autonomy and power but the selectors need to take their job seriously.
But he doesn't believe that Dhoni could have manipulated team selections. The customary rule followed by the board officials and captains is to plan team selections. Captains make their selections and allow young players to participate.
Dhoni has allegedly taken a crucial role in players' management and he is the India Captain.
Team India Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni allegedly holds a 15 per cent stake in Rhiti Sports Management. The Sports Marketing firm manages players like Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja and Pragyan Ojha.
It is clear that MS Dhoni has a clear case of conflict of interest in his major standing as the skipper and the businessman.
